Character AnimationThe skeleton animaiton files are represented with CAF (crytek animation file) extension in CryEngine. The CAF file is compressed version of animation file. Initially Resource Compiler create a I_CAF file for animation then it’s compressed to CAF file according to compression settings which may be set from Character Tool in CryEngine.
Limit with Values - Animation range is stored in custom property values. You must enter a start frame and an end frame representing the frame range of the animation. This method is ideal for exporting a single animation or multiple animations.
Limit with Markers - Animation range is stored in animation markers. Markers can be set directly on the Timeline Editor or from the Add Animation Node menu. You must identify a start and end marker representing the frame range of the animation. If there are already markers with the names chosen, those are used directly. If the markers chosen do not exist yet, they will be created at the values specified in the Add Animation Node menu. |
