Asset File Types:CGF (Crytek Geometry Format) - a static geometry file that stores all the geometry data of an object: polygons, vertex colors, texture coordinates, and some physics data.
CGA (Crytek Geometry Animation) - an animated geometry file that supports hard or rigid-body animation. CGA does not support skeletal or soft-body animation, only pivot-based animation. The parts of a CGA are organized in a hierarchy which must have a root. CHR (Character) - a file that stores all the data for a character including: geometry data, skeletal data, bone physics, and, optionally, skin or weight data. A character skeleton must always have a single root bone. SKIN (Skinned Render Mesh) - a file that stores all the skin or weight data for a character. This data consists of the actual geometry of the character and the vertex weights which define how the mesh deforms, but does not include the skeletal data of the character. ANM (Animation) - an animation file that supports hard or rigid-body animation. An ANM file is always coupled with a CGA file which stores the corresponding geometry for the animation. The ANM file stores only animation data. A CGA file may consist of several ANM files, each one representing a different animation on that geometry. I_CAF (Intermediate Character Animation File) - an animation file that supports character or skeletal animation. An I_CAF file is an intermediate or uncompressed file. This file may be imported into CryEngine as its compressed and optimized equivalent, the CAF file. A CHR may consist of several CAF files, each one representing a different animation on that character. |
