Our Mission
A common frustration shared by aspiring game designers, artists, and indie developers is the high price range of DCC tools used in asset creation for games. Expensive DCC tools make it difficult if not impossible to pursue one’s interest in game design. One alternative to the industry standards, Blender, is free and open source. Blender is available for personal and commercial use and operates on a GNU General Public License. Now if only we could export assets from Blender to CryENGINE…
CryBlend was created to do just this, to facilitate the flow of assets from Blender to CryENGINE. The program was named CryBlend for bridging the gap between the two. With a focus on simplicity and community, it is our goal at CryBlend to provide users with a free, open source art asset pipeline for next generation game design. It is our hope that we can make 3-D asset creation for games more tangible for individuals who cannot afford the lofty prices of industry standards like 3ds Max and Maya. Help us imagine a better future with CryBlend. Free now and always.
